As the year draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect and grow from our experiences.
Earlier this year, an opportunity suddenly presented itself to us. It involved relocating our clinic from Toorak Gardens to larger premises in Marryatville.
We had a tight window to fit out the clinic in readiness for our clients. Our staff worked hard during the transition and we’ve been fortunate to have a new clinic team leader, Mandy Button, join us all the way from Cape Town, South Africa.
The move has also allowed us space to expand our post-operative orthopaedic services through our hospital team.
Sonya, Kate and Ben with Robert Bria – Mayor of the City of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters.
We celebrated Marryatville’s official opening in late October and were delighted to have our local Mayor open proceedings. We are thankful for the show of support for local businesses focused on improving health care in the East Adelaide community.
Our Anti-Gravity Treadmill is also now located at Marryatville and used by locals and the occasional AFL star! Can you guess who is in the photo?
Erin Ly, our physiotherapist in Blackwood welcomed her first child Hugh this year! We are looking forward to a few more visits from mum and bub and welcoming Erin’s return from maternity leave in 2020.
In Prospect, our Neurological services and NDIS referrals through Dr Michelle McDonnell and Paediatric physio with Sue Gibson continue to grow. Both offer great access to our services through home visits and hydrotherapy.
We developed our flagship program Standing Up For Hips + Knees which offers the latest education and pathways for people living with osteoarthritis.
This year, we ran 15 events at our three clinics and the program is now available via two other independent physio businesses in Adelaide.
The outcomes from those who have completed the program show a high level of satisfaction and evidence-based results with respect to improved pain and increasing function. Further hip and knee events are scheduled for 2020.
We are committed to providing the highest quality physiotherapy care and improving the health and wellness of South Australians.
None of this would be possible without the support of our patients and referrers and we thank you for your ongoing support. We hope that our reflections inspire you to reflect on your own achievements this year.
From the entire team at The Physio Clinic, we wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Ben Corso – Director, The Physio Clinic
