    Anti-Gravity Announcement

At The Physio Clinic we are always looking into new ways to provide the best possible care and most up-to-date rehabilitation for all of our clients.

We are excited to announce our latest piece of equipment acquired by us at our Burnside Hospital clinic – The Anti-Gravity Treadmill.

An Anti-Gravity Treadmill uses state-of-the-art air pressure technology to allow clients to safely and comfortably exercise on a treadmill by reducing the amount of weight that is being applied through their body.

    What's it used for?

The Anti-Gravity Treadmill is predominantly used with assisting patients to regain mobility, develop strength and fitness and can help increase range of movement – all whilst minimising the stress on the joints of the lower limb.

The treadmill can be adjusted from 100% of your body weight all the way down to just 20%, making it accessible to anyone with any level of fitness.

By exercising with only using a portion of your body weight, it can allow you to exercise for longer and recover faster as the overall strain is less on the body. This is ideal for those who are looking to get back into walking and running after surgery or injury.

Our physios have been trained in the use of the Anti-Gravity Treadmill and can create an individualised program based around your specific problem area, which can help you achieve your exercise-related goals.

    How is it used?

After an initial assessment with a physiotherapist, sessions on the treadmill can vary from 30 minutes to one hour in length and are claimable with Private Health Insurance Extras.

We are aware that you may not know too much about the Anti-Gravity Treadmill or are unsure if it may help you with your specific problem, so our physios are happy to answer any of your questions you may have.
