Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia in 2010 and completed his Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Masters in 2019 at the University of Queensland.
He has completed further training in manipulation, dry needling, lumbar and cervical spine disorder management, whiplash management, shoulder pathologies, hip and groin pathologies, ACL rehabilitation, and movement control assessment and retraining.
I was interested in the mechanics of the body from fairly early on. I also tried every sport I could put my hand to and had my fair share of injuries, so naturally, I gravitated towards Physiotherapy. I took to it, and never looked back.
I started in private practice, learning under some excellent mentors and enjoyed working as a team Physio for both netball and football clubs.
I travelled overseas for what ended up being an extended trip that allowed me to work in London, as well as the Isle of Man and some islands off the coast of Scotland. Work in both the private and public system overseas gave me exposure to a broad range of conditions and treatment methods. Once I’d had enough exploring, I came back home to further my knowledge with post-graduate study, which I completed through the University of Queensland. Along the way, I developed a passion for teaching, and act as a clinical educator for the UniSA undergraduate physiotherapy degree.
Outside of work, I like getting into anything physically active. Climbing would be the main sport I am into right now. I’ve also developed a tragic addiction to board games, which allows me to wage cognitive war on my friends and family!
