    Ben graduated in 1995 and completed a Master of Physiotherapy degree in 2002. Special interests are spinal conditions, orthopaedics, sports and golf injuries.

    Dr Michelle McDonnell

    Neurological & Vestibular Physiotherapist

    Michelle graduated in 1996 and has worked exclusively with people with neurological disorders and dizziness/balance problems. She has completed a PhD in the field of neuroplasticity and believes in using research evidence to provide the best therapy for clients. She has extensive experience working with people with stroke, dizziness, spinal cord injury, MS and Parkinson’s disease and for those with falls and balance problems.

    Lauren graduated with a Graduate Entry Masters degree in Physiotherapy in 2007 and has further qualifications having completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences prior. Lauren has additional experience with Pilates/Gym based rehab, hydrotherapy, dry needling and women's health. She is committed to educating her patients to achieve their goals and best possible outcomes.

    Natalie graduated in 2002 from the University of South Australia. She is a Blackwood local and is passionate about providing high quality, evidence based, holistic physiotherapy services within her community. Natalie uses a range of manual therapies and dry needling techniques combined with a strong focus on education, exercise and movement therapy. Natalie has special interests in orthopaedic/post-surgery rehabilitation, Clinical Pilates, headaches, women's health, pre and post natal, shoulder dysfunction and complex musculoskeletal presentations. Natalie also has a special interest in oncology rehabilitation and is a Certified Cancer Rehabilitation Therapist (Pinc and Steel International). Away from the clinic, Natalie likes to enjoy as much time with her young family, gardening, cooking, hiking and trail running.

    Mandy Button: Team Leader

    Mandy has over 30 years’ experience as a physiotherapist. She ran her own successful physiotherapy clinic in South Africa for many years, where she gained valuable experience in musculoskeletal conditions, post-operative rehabilitation and sports injuries. Mandy also has a Masters degree in Sports Physiotherapy. In her spare time Mandy enjoys mountain biking and hiking. Her Masters thesis was on "Lower back pain in cyclists" due to her experience in treating back pain and her keen interest in cycling. She likes treating sports injuries and post-operative rehabilitation, as she loves helping people get back to normal function and doing what they enjoy most.

    Amy graduated in 2010. She primarily works in our hospital team providing inpatient rehabilitation to patients during their hospital stay post surgery, however also consults at the Toorak Gardens clinic. She has a special interest in orthopaedic rehabilitation and musculoskeletal injuries. She has additional training in dry needling and occupational rehabilitation.

    Sue Gibson

    Susan has over 35 years experience working as a physiotherapist with children, young people and adults with physical & intellectual disabilities. She has completed a Master of Applied Science in Physiotherapy (Paediatrics), and a Graduate Certificate in Evidence Based Practice. She has extensive experience in providing interventions for children, young people and adults with movement difficulties in a variety of settings (home, pre-school, school, community recreation and residential accommodation settings). Susan also has extensive experience in the assessment and prescription of aids, equipment and assistive technology for children, young people and adults with disabilities including aids for daily living, mobility aids, and positioning equipment

    Jesse Adams

    A titled Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherpist with over 15 years experience, Jesse has recently returned home after 10 living and working in Melbourne at the Victorian Institute of Sport. He is currently the head physiotherapist of Basketball Australia's paralympic program, and consults orthopaedic patients at Burnside, Parkwynd and St Andrews hospitals.

    Alex Flood

    Alex completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2010 at UniSA and a postgraduate Musculoskeletal Masters in 2019 at the University of Queensland. He has extensive experience working with musculoskeletal and sports injuries both in Adelaide and across the UK – in the public and private sectors. Alex is passionate about ongoing education and is a clinical educator for the UniSA undergraduate Physiotherapy degree. Alex enjoys working with recurrent and complex musculoskeletal or sports injuries. He has tried his hand at most sports, and in recent years his passion is rock climbing.

    Chrissy graduated with a Masters of Physiotherapy from Flinders University in 2016. Working primarily at the Prospect and Toorak Gardens clinics, or in the hospital setting at Burnside Hospital she has a special interest in musculoskeletal injuries and orthopaedic physiotherapy. Chrissy has additional training in dry needling, and instructs many of our Pilates and Hydrotherapy classes.

    Thomas Setchell

    Tom graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from The University of South Australia (achieving the University Merit Award). He has extended qualifications in strength and conditioning, dry needling, osteoarthritis management and cervicogenic (neck caused) headaches. Tom enjoys travelling, cycling, gardening, CrossFit, cooking, board games and fantasy novels.

    Kelsey graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia in 2016. She has experience working in the rehabilitation industry and enjoys helping people get back to their favourite activities. Kelsey was a swimming teacher for many years and now excels at running hydrotherapy classes in the warmer water. She enjoys providing treatment to children too and is never seen without a smile on her face! She is currently studying a Diploma in Pilates and enjoys running Physio Exercise Classes (PEC) to help people move and feel better.

    Claudia Neubauer

    Claudia completed a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia, achieving First Class Honours. She is passionate about helping people return to sport and their favourite activities as quickly as possible, while demystifying the experience of pain. Claudia has additional training in sports physiotherapy, neuromuscular dry needling and Pilates. Outside the clinic she is a keen soccer player, having played for 16 years at varying levels, currently a part of the UniSA division 2 women's team. She grew up in the Barossa Valley amongst the vines & hillscape, and even worked at a winery there and another in California before studying physio. This, perhaps, spurred a love of wine and fine food.

    Erin is an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist who graduated from UniSA in 2010. She is committed to providing her patients with the best evidence based treatment and education possible. Erin also has a strong interest in sports injuries and rehabilitation, jaw related pain and has additional experience with Pilates/Gym based rehab, hydrotherapy and dry needling.

    Bec graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia in 2002. She has worked in private practice since graduation as well as providing physiotherapy for multiple senior and junior state and club level rugby sides (sometimes from on the field whilst trying to play herself!). Bec is particularly interested in musculoskeletal and sports injuries, headache treatment, and orthopaedic/post surgery rehabilitation and is passionate about helping people stay strong and active at all stages of life. She provides hands-on treatment, dry needling and home exercises and runs physio exercise and hydrotherapy classes. Away from the clinic Bec is enjoys running on the many trails surrounding Adelaide and spending time outdoors with her family.

    Anita Pipprell

    Anita graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2004 from The University of South Australia, Anita attributes her diverse skill set to early career opportunities both interstate and overseas. Soon after graduating, she joined a medical team on the ski fields of New Zealand, gaining first-hand experience in the management of acute musculoskeletal injuries. During this time she was introduced to clinical Pilates (now termed Physio Exercise Classes) and its rehab application for a range of injuries and conditions. She has a special interest in occupational medicine and ergonomics, dizziness and balance disorders (BPPV treatment) and the prevention and management of musician/performance related injuries. Anita is particularly interested in pain neuroscience and has completed ‘Explain Pain’ and ‘Graded Motor Imagery’ professional courses through the Neuro Orthopaedic Institute (NOI) in Adelaide. She enjoys educating people about the neuroscience of pain and empowering them to get moving again using physio exercise programs. Away from the clinic, Anita can often be found performing on stage in Adelaide community theatre productions or exploring walking trails in the hills with her family.

    Ben graduated from Flinders University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Health Science & Masters of Physiotherapy qualification. He has grown up and still lives relatively local to the Blackwood area (in Morphett Vale), and prides himself on combining the use of manual therapy techniques with exercise and movement therapy to empower client's to achieve their functional goals. Moreover, the use of the most recent evidence-based knowledge is pivotal in his approach towards empowering the client through patient education in order to achieve their goals. Being a sportsman himself, Ben has a keen interest in sport and musculoskeletal injuries, and the rehabilitation that that involves. As such, Ben is additionally able to help client's achieve their goals through Physio Exercises Classes (PEC) and Hydrotherapy sessions to rehabilitate or to further strengthen the client. Outside of physiotherapy, you will likely find Ben enjoying his weekends out on a cricket field or a golf course, and is also a passionate Port Adelaide FC fan in the AFL and OKC Thunder fan in the NBA. He also loves to travel, and has just returned from a 5 month stint in the UK which involved working, travelling and playing cricket.

    Kristian graduated in 2014. He works in our Hospital team providing inpatient rehabilitation to patients during their hospital stay post surgery. Kristian is passionate about helping patients achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

    Matt graduated in 2017. He works within our hospital and clinic teams, providing post-surgical rehabilitation services at Burnside Hospital and our Marryatville clinic. Matt has a keen interest in orthopaedic and sports injury rehabilitation, and the associated journey of patients achieving their desired goals.

    Charlotte Bateman

    Charlotte started her physio career at The Physio clinic in 2012. She worked at the Prospect clinic until 2014 and the birth of her first child Patrick. She has returned to TPC in a casual capacity in 2019 focusing on manual handling training and hospital care. She enjoys working with people in an active and functional way to get them feeling positive about their bodies and feeling they can do it! She is a studio rehab qualified pilates instructor and dry needling qualified, she has interests in running, womens health, biomechanics and occupational health and loves the challenge of making manual handling fun and interesting!

    Jordan graduated in 2014. He works within our hospital team providing inpatient services to predominantly Burnside Hospital. Jordan’s special interests include post-surgical rehabilitation as well as treating sports and musculoskeletal injuries. He has additional training in Pilates, dry needling and lower back injuries.

    Kate joined The Physio Clinic in January 2019 and has a background in management and a degree in Psychology. She has worked for many years in the allied health industry and has seen firsthand the benefits of exercise, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy. In her spare time, Kate enjoys travelling overseas, camping and spending time at the beach with her fiancé and dog.

Michelle comes to us with previous medical reception experience, as well as over 18 years of customer service experience working in the travel industry for both Ansett and Qantas. Having first hand experience with Pilates and its many benefits, she is able to answer any of your questions.

    Sonya has over 30 years' experience in customer service. She has been involved in a range of businesses from the automotive industry to owning The Cheesecake Shop in Port Adelaide for over 15 years. Sonya prides herself on the highest standards of customer service and shares empathy and honest communication with all patients. Sonya is married with three beautiful children and enjoys baking, walking and listening to 80s music.

    Jasmine joined the team at The Physio Clinic in 2019 and brings many years of experience in the allied health industry. Currently, she is undertaking a Clinical Exercise Physiology degree. Jasmine is enthusiastic about how the body responds to exercise, the treatment of injury and prevention of chronic disease. Jasmine regularly partakes in Physio Exercise Classes (PEC) and is more than happy to answer any queries you may have.
